Volunteer Guidelines
At St. Casimir School, we encourage parents and family members to volunteer for various opportunities throughout the year, including field trips, fundraising events and after-school activities.
All school and parish volunteers, priests, deacons, seminarians, and pastoral center employees must adhere to the Compliance Guidelines. These guidelines outline the required conduct for those involved in the community.
According to the Archdiocese of Gary, all individuals who volunteer around the students must complete the following to be compliant.
Safe & Welcoming
St. Casimir School is committed to fostering a culture that is safe, inclusive, welcoming, and protective of everyone, particularly our children. Volunteers from archdiocesan organizations must undergo a background check and complete VIRTUS training.
VIRTUS Training
The VIRTUS: Protecting God's Children program aims to improve child safety within churches and religious organizations by refining the roles of those involved and empowering adults. This thorough training initiative covers best practices for preventing child sexual abuse by clergy, staff, and volunteers. Participants benefit from live sessions, facilitator-led education, informative videos, and continuous online training available through the VIRTUS Online system.
